Liquid Chlorine
FC (free chlorine) - 2
CC (combined chlorine) - I’m confused with testing so I don’t know I assume it’s also nothing, opened the pool Saturday, filter running non-stop, added 3 packs of shock on Tuesday night.
pH - under 7.0
TA (total alkalnity) - 40
CH (calcium hardness) - 100
CYA (cyanuric acid) - filled to the top of the tube on the k-2006 still see the black dot

What is my first step?

What is my first step?
Please do the following in this order:
1. Add liquid chlorine (ONLY) for an FC target of 10. Test again in 10 minutes with with pump running strong.
2. After 10 minutes, if the FC fell below 5 ppm, increase it right away and repeat until it shows signs of holding.
3. Once the FC is holding to 5 ppm or more for 10 minutes, THEN you can add stabilizer.
4. Add stabilizer for a CYA target of 30.
5. At this point increase and maintain the SLAM FC of 12 until you pass all 3 SLAM criteria.
6. Add some baking soda for a TA goal of 60.

At this point watch the FC closely for the first day or two as that's when it may try to drop fairly quickly. Eventually it should settle and be more predictable.

Follow the SLAM Process page carefully and you should do well.

For Step #4 above.

Adding CYA:
To increase CYA via granular stabilizer, place the required amount as calculated by the PoolMath APP into a white sock and place in the poolside skimmer basket. For those concerned about suction flow to the pump, suspending the sock near a return jet or from a floating device will also suffice. Best never to allow undissolved granules to rest directly against the pool surface. After about 30 minutes of soaking, squeeze the sock continuously to help it dissipate. Once dissolved, consider your CYA adjusted to that programmed (target) level. CYA test readings should show a rise in 24-48 hours, however some pools may experience a longer delay to fully register. Best to confirm final CYA in about 5-7 days before adding any more stabilizer/conditioner.

How many bottles of this should I add?
Good question. Unfortunately we can't answer that because we know nothing about your pool. :( Your profile and signature info are completely blank. I would populate that info as soon as possible. Then go to the PoolMath APP with your pool details and update that APP as well. In the PoolMath APP, look for the menu item called "Effects of Adding" When you enter the applicable info, it will tell you how much of a chemical to add.
