Helping a friend out with Hayward SWG system problem

A church friend of ours asked me to take a look at her SWG. When she opened it up this season, the reading on the AquaRite panel was low she she began adding bags of salt. She ended up adding 18 bag and didn't get the reading to change much. So she stopped there and asked for help. When I went over to help, the reading on the panel was 2500 ppm. My Taylor K-1766 showed more like 5000 ppm.

In addition to the reading being off, the SWG doesn't appear to be generating chorine either. FC was zero after running all weekend.

I opend the Turbocell T-9 up and didn't see much if any build up. I sprayed it out but did not clean it with muriatic acid.

This is the basic information we need to know in diagnosing a problem:

• Report all readings when you..
  • Move the switch from auto to off and check all of the readings.
  • Move the switch back to auto and recheck the readings.
  • Move the switch to off for a minute and then back to auto and recheck the readings.
• What are the first seven characters of the cell and box serial numbers?
