Help With Water Chemistry

Hello,

i have been been reading some of the forums for several months and I have just switched over from test strips to TF-100. I did all the test in the kit with numbers below. I would really like some guidance on what to do and not to do. We have been using Brite sticks in the skimmer and I don't want to maintain my pool any longer by what the pool stores tell me what I need to do. I would appreciate any advice.

PH 7.2
Chlorine test drop FC 9.5ppm. CC 0. FC 9.5
CH 175ppm
TA 160

Your CYA is getting a little high for a non SWG pool. So must stop using the sticks and switch to liquid chlorine.

How does the water look?

The water is clear

I would try the OCLT to ensure you are starting with a sanitized pool. Then start maintaining the correct FC level for your CYA with bleach.

I feel stupid for asking this but what do I need to do to the pool tonight to start this?

You could start by doing some reading...
Your Numbers look good so far (aside from having a slightly high CYA level)
I also keep my cya on the high side as I find that I go through less bleach down here in the deep south that way.

get some bleach... regular concentrated, non splashless...
