Help with SLAM

Hi everyone!
My current CYA in my pool is 60. I need to get the FC up to 24 in order to SLAM, right? I’m nervous to take it that high. Will it come back down when it’s time? Thanks for your help. First year opening the pool by ourselves.

Follow the SLAM Process.
SLAM level FC has less active chlorine than 3 ppm FC with 0 CYA. And your tap water can have up to 4 ppm FC.

The FC will come down very quickly. That is why the M in SLAM stands for Maintain!

So, apparently I had nothing to worry about. Poured the recommended level of chlorine in and the pool completely ate it. Still showing no FC in the pool. Do I repeat the process?

Read the SLAM Process. M is for Maintain. Test and add chlorine every 2-3 hours at first.

If you added liquid chlorine with the pump running, after 30 minutes or so, it is well distributed and can be tested.
