Pool is a 21,600 inground vinyl pool, salt water system. Went and got my water tested and I'll put the results down below along with what they recommend I use to bring the levels within range. I'm aware I can use baking soda instead of biolab pak 100, but would I use the same measurement? Can I sub optimizer with borax? Just trying to save a few bucks, water is clear pump is running, just want to get everything within range to have an easy summer.

TA: 88 Add 8lbs Balance PAK 100
PH: 8 Add 2lbs Lo n Slo
Stabilizer: 5 Add 5.5lbs Stabilizer 100
Hardness: 75 Add 15lbs balance PAK 300
Chlorine: 0.5 Add 4 bags Burnout3
Optimizer: 1 Add 32lbs Optimizer

I think you are getting bad advice from the pool store. I recommend getting your own test kit and reading the below before you start pouring in assorted things. I do recommend you start adding in liquid chlorine immediately so you don’t have an algae situation.

If you would like to empty your wallet everytime your
water is clear.
Keep doing what you're doing. (You don't even wanna KNOW what a green pool costs)

If you'd like to take control of your situation, and use generic and wallet friendly chemicals, you need a reliable test kit first. We cannot tell you what you need without good data. Check out the Taylor K-2006C or the TF-100 at tftestkits.net. We will happily guide you to an Easy Peasy summer.

Well I didnt buy any products just wanted to get my water levels. Thats why I came here before adding a bunch of stuff, to save a few bucks lol.
I'll check out getting a test kit. So would I be good with adding the 3 bags of salt they recommended? 3 bags of shock as well?

Sorry. This goof was on me for not explaining it. Time and time again members have gotten results all over the place at the pool store. We just don't trust them to be able to advise from questionable at best results.

Salt is one test that they kinda get right. But it also can't come out without draining, so I would want to really have reliable data if it was my pool. CYA and CH too. They won't burn off in a few days like chlorine will.
3 bags of shock as well?
The definition of shock is a sudden, often violent change. The only reason to shock a pool or a person is if they are DOA. On top of that, your pool is clear. Download the poolath app for free. Setup your pool info and add 3ppm of Chlorine a day until you get your kit. From there we can help you TONs. :)

Dont apologize lol, I understood the sarcasm! The salt generator thing is blinking check salt, maybe from backwashing all lat year from previous owners it dropped levels a little? So no shock just chlorine

Dont apologize
I blew off the pool store testing without explaining it. I can bore you to tears with details about then if you'd like, but usually the general theme is enough. Lol.
The salt generator thing is blinking check salt,
So the salt is likely low like they say. But. How low ? If you don't know your starting value, you have no idea where You'll land. And Salt isn't easy to undo if you overshoot a bunch.
So no shock just chlorine
Yes. Plain Jane bleach or chlorinating liquid. no scents or smells or splash less. HD/Lowes/ Walmart have it in the outdoor garden area with the pool stuffs

Got it, will do 2 gallons tomorrow instead
Now you're trolling me. Touche. :ROFLMAO:

Poolmath says 2 gallons 2 cups, or 84 ounces of 10% bleach. Like the HD etc kind. A little over 1/2 gallon per day. Pour a small stream at a return with the pump running. Mix well with the brush as it's heavier than water, like @wireform said.

Get yo own pool math too. Mine is taken and she's a one dude kinda gal.
