Hello,

I have 2 new pumps. I replaced my main filter pump which was an older InteliFlo with an InteliFlo3. I also replaced my water feature (pots and bubblers) single-speed WisperFlo with a WhisperFlo VST.

I cannot control either with my ScreenLogic interface. I hooked up both to the comm port using RS-485 Green and yellow wires. I had to pigtail them to fit. Neither is communicating. I can control the InteliFlo3 via teh wifi app when in service mode.

My WhisperFlo VST loses power when I do not have the Feature selected on teh Intellitouch/Screenlogic. I assume that might be a wiring issue. If disconnect the RS-485 and select the Feature I can use the panel pad on the pump to control it.

I have a freeze coming so I would love to get this figured out soon. I am attaching many pictures.

Did you set one of the VS pumps to address 2 in the pump control panel and EasyTouch?

I would connect one pump at a time and get each one working.

VST pump power should be continuously powered and not connected to the LOAD side of the relay. Since you want heater and VST pump to always be powered there is no need to connect to the relay. Use a WAGO connector and connect the three wires together - wire from CB, to heater, to VST.

You need to assign speeds to your circuits for the pumps to run.

Thanks for your response.

I talked to Pentair and my Intellitouch board needs a Flash update. It is so old (2011) that they have to do it manually so I have to get a pool repair company that knows how to do it to come by. There are a few in Austin so hopefully, I get one to do it soon.

So using WAGO connector is easy. so I connect the three wires (Heater, Pump, and CB). See Picture. The one question is the heater. I was not aware the heater should be always powered and not on the relay. Will I still be able to control my heater via automation? I have never messed with a heater. Or should I keep just the heater on the relay? Looks like the heater is connected to the LINE .

Luckily I have a bunch of WAGO here at the house. They are easy to use.

@ogdento may have advice on that.

Your heater is connected to the LINE side of the relay and not controlled by the relay.

Nothing will change with the heater or automation.

Yes, use WAGO to connect the two groups of three wires.

hey @utell hopefully somebody near you can pop out and do the update... I think you have a handheld remote? If so, make sure they update that as well because you want everything that can set/store settings at the same firmware level (i.e. outdoor board, indoor panel, wireless remote). And if you can't get an update, pm me with the TFP "conversation" feature

Thanks. My remote went bad years ago and i do not have an indoor panel. I only have the app / software to control the pool. Not the best situation. I will let you know if i cant get anyone. I appreciate it.

btw, if your remote's menu/power button died, they can be cut open and "fixed"... jerryt has a thread here on how he did his and glued it back together
