I recently purchased a generic grc40gh Platinum Edition salt cell. It originally said I had 4800ppm salt and gave high amps no chlorinator warning. The salt was actually 4600 so I pulled off 2 feet of h20 from my 10000 gal pool. Refilled and it still says high amps. I am desperate here. Please help.

A quick search suggested that a GRC40GH replaces the Hayward Aquarite T-15 cell. Make sure the cell type is set to T-15 on the controller.
How do you test the salt level? What are the diagnostic readings?
Try to put in a warranty claim if the generic cell is incorrectly reporting the actual salt level.
