Help with Doughboy Powerline XP I

I hope someone can help me. Somehow the paddle switch got broken off on my pump over the winter. I tried removing the cover to my pulp (4 screws) but the cover does not budge. Is there something else that needs to be done to remove the cover over the motor?

I know this may be a silly question but I just cannot figure it out.
