Probably STUPID idea but I needed to change the filter. I've had 4 Intex pools that had close valves when changing the filter...this stupid pool doesn't! i figured I can get this switched out and tightened back up...BAD DECISION. Now my filter intake is leaking and I'm fit to be tied...need help! PLEASE!!! Am I supposed to put the black plug into the water intakes inside the pool??? Seriously, this is ridiculous and too much work. The only shutoff valve is where the water is put back out from filtration. Hopefully I make sense! Single mom!

Looks like the only option to stop the flow from the pool is to use the black stopper plugs. The filter can then be changed and put back together without fighting the water coming from the pool.

Whenever you clean your cartridge, you need to shut off the outlet (where the water comes out into the pool) and plug both inlets (where the water goes out of the pool and into the filter) with the black stoppers. They don't have to go all the way in -- just push them in far enough so they don't fall out.

That shuts down water flow out of your pool. Now you can tend to the cartridge. Make sure you turn off the pump before servicing it!

As for the leaking lid, I'll bet your o ring isn't properly aligned. Open the filter, clean and lube the o ring, then set it on the top of the filter. Put the lid on and tighten. And you should be done!
