I have a Jandy 2.7hp ePump. My pool and spa together are ~13250 gallons (flow meter reads 55 gpm). My spa is flush with the pool waterline (has a tile spillway). Additionally, I have a QuickClean in-floor installed. My turn-over rate is 4. I'd like to turnover my pool 2xs per day. So I now I need to run my pump 8 hours per day. My question is....is it better to split my run times -or- run it for the continual 8 hours. If I split it, would be best to split so I can at least 1 turnover each time it runs, or can I set it up, and have it be just as effective, and do partial turns on a more frequent interval. I could split the run to 1on/2off, 2 on/1off, or 4 on/2off. I know starting up a pump is when amperage draw is its highest. So electrically (and thus cost), there is no benefit to split the run. Is there a benefit water quality wise to splitting? Am I overthinking this? Or is there a method to this madness?
