The previous home owner tried to patch a leak with epoxy and it's not holding up so I've purchased 3 new Jandy Valves to redo the plumbing before the pump instead of just repairing the 1 valve to ensure there are no leaks. No leaks are coming from the pump itself.
Currently, I run the MX8 cleaner with the skimmer open and it only moves up the walls when my pump is above 3000rpm. If I close the skimmer and only have the dedicated vacuum line open, the cleaner runs optimally around 2200rpm, climbs the wall, with filter pressure at 10psi, and GPM gauge showing 40 on 1 1/2" PVC
Is there any downside to reconfiguring the vacuum line 3-way valve in front of all valves instead of behind? I rather run the cleaner only at a low filter speed to prevent debris from returning back to the pool and only rotate 1 valve instead of closing the skimmer and opening the vacuum, causing temporary starvation unless I turn the pool off. Feedback would be greatly appreciated!
