Help: Update Hayward Firmware

Got a message the Hayward app that my Hayward firmware needed to be updated.
I followed the steps provided.
Downloaded the latest firmware R 4.4.1 onto a USB.
If I read this correctly, the current firmware I have is R 1.4.6
I'm guessing the previous home owner never updated??

Went the Omnilogic panel and again followed the steps.
I get to the step where I need to pick update using USB drive.
I see the USB drive on the screen but I can't click on it.
I try to press USB, I try to use the UP/Down arrows.
Nothing happens.

I follow all the steps with no issues.
As soon I get the USB screen, the panel freezes up.

Any suggestions?

What size USB drive did you try?

Use a small USB memory drive. A 512MB drive worked for one member while a 32GB drive failed.

Scrounge up a smaller USB.

Sounds like your internet browser didn't "download" the right file type into your USB. The USB updates are tricky. I use Firefox for everything, BUT I have to install the update into my USB using Chrome because Firefox doesn't get the right file in there. The reason you can't click on it is because the Omni doesn't recognize the file type. Try a different browser to download into the USB and you'll figure it out.
