We received the first "correction notice" for our pool permit application. One of the build plan reviewers comments was "Pool walls with unbalanced fill greater than 2' require engineer design to resist lateral loads". Appreciate any assistance understanding what the reviewer is talking about? Thank you!

Based on MY interpretation (assuming your pool is deeper than 2 ft under ground) your code enforcer requires your pool plans to be designed and sealed by a registered professional (structural) engineer in your state.

I’m surprised that your PB isn’t handling all of the permitting for you. I’ve heard getting pool permits in Alpharetta can be a challenge. We are in Cobb where it’s a little easier but I’m glad we didn’t have to do it ourselves since we had many challenges including a flood zone, impervious buffer next to a creek, and an easement next to a stormwater detention area.
