Help trouble putting light in niche

Folks I changed my light bulb in housing. Not too hard at all. However getting the light housing back into the niche flush is proving near impossible. Any tricks. I checked that cord is not the issue. I finally got it back in but not flush and it’s bothering me

Do you have any photos to share? Normally in the niche there's a metal tab at the bottom where the light housing is slotted in first then the top is pushed flush against the niche and behind is a threaded hole to screw into to fasten it against the wall.

I just did mine and it is not easy and takes patience. I found it almost impossible to do it from the deck of pool. I ended up getting in the pool with diving mask on and it made it a lot easier job. As already said you need to put the bottom in first with the tab on pool in the slot and then push up the top of light fixture to be flush with pool wall. Make sure that the retaining screw is lined up with the top mounting screw bracket on the niche. I personally found it easier to totally take out the screw when removing light by take retaining grommet on back as it always more sideways movement of the screw when reinstalling. The down side is that the next time your remove the screw from the fixture it may fall to bottom of pool it not carefully.
