Our pool pump has been leaking so we have decided to replace it with a more energy efficient pump. We currently have a century centurion 230 v b855 pump and are looking at replacing it with a hayword maxflow variable speed pump 230 V. Is this a comparable replacement? Thanks in advance for the feedback.

That is a motor, not a pump. Can you post the picture of the pump if you don't know the actual make/model?

Also, it would be helpful to get some more information about your pool setup. Please follow these instructions:

That looks like a Challenger high pressure pump. If you don't have any water features or a spa, the MaxFlo VS should be sufficient. However, a full size VS pump might be a better choice. They are quieter to run because you can use a lower speed for the same flow rate as the MaxFlo. They cost a bit more but probably worth it.
