So my pool tends to go green and cloudy when it gets warm. I have adjusted the CL to the 8-9 range since testing but still remains. TA 210 , FC 8, CC0, CYA55, Ph7.2 85f.

12hrs after initial readings:
FC 4.5 CC 0 TA 210 CYA 50 Ph 7.5 Temp 85

Currently, I just tested CL and Ph and they are 5+ and 7.8 respectively. I'll do the full test later today as I'm working on homework right now.

I’ve been adding baking soda (now realizing I should be using soda ash) to raise the Ph but it’s being stubborn, how is my TA so high with my Ph so low? please help

Welcome to TFP
With a CYA of 60 (we always use the decade number, so round up), a target FC of 7-9 is ideal. So not sure why you are having algae unless you are letting the FC dip below 5ppm which you do indicate on 1 of your recent tests.

Are you using liquid chlorine to chlorinate your pool? If not, what are you using?

Your overall levels are not terrible. So you are doing some things right. Do not raise pH if your test is between 7.0 to 8.0. Look at reducing TA over time - please read

I should note- you need to do a SLAM Process to remove the algae. It will require to have lots of liquid chlorine and You have the TF 100 test kit.

Welcome to the forum.
Is the pool covered for days at a time? The cover needs to be removed for at least a few hours every other day or so as it warms up.

The pH drops with the cover on. Remove it and the pH will rise.

It did recently drop to 0 and my CYA as well, I got that back under control.

I use liquid 12.5% and a tab in my feeder here and there to maintain the CYA.

Currently, I'm aerating and adding MA in an attempt to reduce the TA, I assume I'll need to get that in range before I can even think about a SLAM. I am getting material at the bottom that needs vacuuming every day, currently doing that. hoping to avoid a SLAM but if it needs to happen I'll do it for sure.

I read that article, and the only shortcoming it has is the only process for lowering TA is MA and aerate. My question is can I do these at the same time? or should I separate the MA addition before the aeration?

No need to add either. They're counterproductive in your case, and now you're dealing with nuisance high TA. With typical TA levels and an uncovered pool, pH will naturally rise (aerate if you want to speed up the process). Any pH in the 7s is fine. Don't obsess about TA, it's the least important parameter and will correct itself over time if you're managing pH.

Follow the SLAM Process. Deal with TA later. It is not a significant issue with your pool components.
okay, I'm reading this as Ph 7.2 CL >5 I am currently aerating and my slam level CL is 24 according to the calc. so if I am doing maths properly I should be adding about 4 Gal of 12.5 correct?

And yes, that is a lawn sprinkler attached to my cover pump, held in by my old skimmer, if it works right?
