HELP Booster Pump Issue

Like idiot i took off hose on booster pump trying to see if i should replace due to leak. After i removed i quickly realized i screwed up as pressure was released and water disappeared down return pipe. I quickly screwed hose back on and turned on main pump to prime then turned on booster pump. You guessed it. It now sounds like it is sucking air and making horrible noise. Was almost silent immediatey before. Any thoughts or help? Really worried my noob self screwed something up

The booster is designed for high pressure. If there's no resistance from the head unit, the pump will run very rough. You can put a red or blue restrictor plate in the wall fitting to help protect the pump from running with low pressure because the restrictor will give enough back pressure even with the head unit removed.

Also, when air gets in the system, it takes a minute or so to clear the air out. If the booster runs with lots of air in the system, it won't run right. Always wait a minute or so to clear the air out of the system before starting the booster pump.
