Hello, I have a 18'x9' ultra xtr rectangular vinyl pool. I live in watervliet NY where it gets pretty cold in the winter. What can I do to winterize my pool so I won't have to take it down every winter. Thanks in advance for your help.
Closing an above ground pool at season’s end should be a fast and worry-free process. Learn the basics of above ground pool winterization in easy steps.

The above link to winterizing has pretty much everything covered. In short when the water is cold enough, below 60 (some suggest below 50), bring FC up to SLAM levels. Drain water about 4-6 inches below your intakes/returns. Remove ladder, remove and drain all hoses and valves. Store all valves inside, I had one crack storing outside. Bring the pump inside. Your filter looks small enough to easily move, if so drain and bring inside. If not leave the valve in winter position (mine is marked “N” in between two positions), remove pressure gauge, sight glass, and remove drain plug. Leave drain plug removed.
Cover if desired. I’m not too familiar with that process, I haven’t covered. If you don’t cover net out leaves/debris as needed, close as late as possible without the pool freezing, and plan to open pretty much when it thaws in the spring.
