I have been lurking here a few weeks. I just received my new Bullfrog A6L (310 gals.) a week ago, so figured it was time to register. I'm looking forward to learning more as I now am out of the pre-tub research mode and experiencing the water maintenance in action.
) I did an Ahh!some Purge, balanced the water (getting my TA worked down from 270 to 60 ppm), added Bromine reserve, shocked it into activity, and I am now learning to fine tune amounts of HCL to lower PH by .X, and amounts of Chlorine to raise Total Bromine 1-3 ppm as needed. This process took several days and required patience. Very glad to be actually getting in and enjoying the tub after so much prep. I know the testing of PH & Bromine levels will become routine and quicker, especially as I get better at not under or over dosing the Muriatic acid or Chlorine, attempting to keep all the parameters within their desired ranges. The Taylor K-2106 test Kit is a great tool for monitoring my Bromine tub.
A special shout out to @JoyfulNoise helpful information!
