Hello From Very Deep South

My wife and I just bout our first pool, an above ground 18 foot round. The summers in south MS can be brutal and we wanted a bit of respite in the backyard. This is all new to us so we have questions about pristine bule and installation. I look forward to being able to help in the future but for now it is going to be all questions. Cheers

Welcome to the forum!
Quickly reconsider the use of Pristine Blue. It is adding copper to your water.
I suggest you read through Pool Care Basics - Trouble Free Pool and even look at a few of our videos TFP-TV - Trouble Free Pool
We had decided on the Pristine Blue because of what I read and was told. my wife has sensitive skin and it seemed like a more more mild alternative to chlorine.

A TFP pool is less harsh than your shower. (Long story for another day). If either of you can bathe without issue, then a TFP pool is for you.

What you know of chlorine pools you've encountered in the past is the same as we all thought. But the truth is, they weren't properly maintained. It's the owners fault that they were uncomfortable, not the chlorine.
