Hello from the suburbs of Kansas City- Just signed for a new pool!

An in ground pool for us, like many, is a childhood dream come true. Unfortunately, we don't know...what we don't know at this point. After many obstacles and research we did decide to pull the trigger. We just had trees taken out, which was pretty rough because our property had huge beautiful old trees (that I, the wife, hated to see go). Construction on the pool begins in approximately a month.

We are confronted with many decisions yet to come, liner and the type of steps are the biggies we are concerned with currently. It is important to us to create the illusion as best we can of a plaster or gunite pool. We are having the coping covered and that's really the only firm decision other than size, shape and location that we have made.

All help and advice welcomed at this point.

Welcome to TFP

Looks like you're off to races on the pool! As soon as you can, please post as many details about the build as possible including images of the plans and any pictures of the backyard. We can help you sort out equipment issues but knowing what's going to be installed upfront before the truck arrives with the equipment is best. We can help guide your decisions and help make sure you're not getting stuck with sub-standard equipment. TFP is very good at cutting through much of the B/S that PBs will often throw at unsuspecting/new pool owners...
