I joined this forum because I am changing from using Pristine Blue to chlorine. This is our 3rd year for our pool and I know most won't like this but Pristine Blue has worked wonderfully until now. I only had to mess with my pool every 1.5 weeks during the hottest times to mostly just every 2 weeks. But this year our local pool store stopped carrying it and said the formulation with the new brand is the exact same. I can tell you it isn't. I have had 3 algae blooms and only ever dealt with 1 before when we left the pool off during vacation because no one was here to watch it. I had to floc the pool to get rid of them because no amount of granular shock was working but a few days later it came back. Finally found this site and did a SLAM and my water is amazing! Now I just have to research how to keep it that way. I am praying the methods shown here help me save money and time!
