I am very thankful to this forum and a great friend who introduced me to this site. I am a 2nd year pool owner who was depended on the knowledge of a local pool supplier. I was battling cloudy water and repeat bouts of algae. Every week, I took a sample of my water to be analyzed, I was told numbers were good, and then was sold more algaecide and shock treatment. My friend and came to my rescue with his laptop (Pool Math} and test kit and informed me that I was being given misinformation. After spending a lot of money on chemicals, I push my CYA to levels above 200. Working with my friend and this site information, I drained the pool and started over. I learned from this experience maintaining the proper balance of water chemistry. The most important lesson is the breaking free of the dependency on a pool company and the new feeling of independence. Crystal Clear!!!!
