Hello all! Just purchased a home that came with an in-ground pool. I'm super intimidated/excited about learning all that I can. The previous owner referred me to this forum to figure things out. It has been quite a learning curve (the recent storm fast tracked my learning needs). I took my pool water to the local pool shop and they got me squared away with balancing the chemicals and keeping on it. I'm currently debating if I should reach out to the pro to close my pool for the winter or just attempt it myself. The guides on here are super helpful. I just don't want to mess anything up. I look forward to my journey to becoming a pool pro. Haha!
The home also came with a Hot Tub. I'm hesitant on completely emptying it and starting over. Fresh water makes sense. I'm not sure when the previous owners last dumped it. I'm also curious where the best place would be to empty it. The hot tub is in the backyard. The previous owners dump their pool waste into the woodline, but I feel weird doing that because there is a neighbor directly behind the woodline. I don't want to risk flooding their yard.
