We just bought a house from some friends that have an in ground pool ? we close on May 1. I look forward to this forum as we are pool newbies. Any good threads that I can be directed to on a good maintenance schedule? Daily, weekly, monthly, weekly, etc.? Thanks!

Welcome to the forum!

Can you add Marysville to your location? Also, when you get the data, be sure to fill out your signature.

Read the Pool School eBook linked below. In that are recommended maintenance schedules, etc. I assume you plan to maintain your own pool water chemistry? Be sure to get a proper test kit. We recommend the TF100 and add a Speedstir for more accurate testing.

I suggest you read ABC's of Pool Water Chemistry and consider reviewing the entire Pool School eBook.

You may also want to get the Poolmath app.

HI. We are out on Whidbey so close to you. TFP has been great help as per mknauss.

Couple other comments.

We bought house with pool. But as sale approached previous owner lost interest in maintaining the pool and when we occupied, it was green. Had to start from scratch.

So...
Insofar as possible, in whatever way you can, try to keep it in shape between now and May 1.

Second
Previous owner left us no directions, no habits, no equipment.

So...
Insofar as possible, get their directions, habits, personal equipment and leftover chemicals.

And last
Previous owner left us no records, where this was bought, when that was bought, etc. Which made things tough.

So...
Insofar as possible, get their repair, replace records.

Thank you ? I have updated my location and have gone through the ABC’s and bought the premium portion of the app for the year ? I will check out the eBook.

Let’s see...we are buying from friends and he is very detailed on everything has records for years and all the info and manuals for everything! We just went over there yesterday and got the run down. I’m glad I read the ABC’s of pool chemistry otherwise I would have been lost ? because of them being friends I have the ability to go there anytime between now and the closing date of May 3rd to check on it.

Over the last 5 years he has records showing that he does the initial start up to the year between May 1-5. So good timing. Can’t wait to dive into this adventure with you all! ?
