Hello from an excited Newbie in Bixby Oklahoma!!

Hope you get some progress very soon. I got so tired of the mud and the trash and the ruts and holes and rocks. But no matter, it will happen and when it does, it's amazing. Enjoy the journey! It's only going to happen once and even though it's long, tiring and sometimes painful, it will end (kind of like pregnancy): About the time you think it will never happen, it does. Then there is immense joy coupled with responsibility. Enjoy!

Hope they are able to start some of that backfill and work soon for you and that the tile arrives safely and quickly. Eyes on the prize...all the pool goodies you bought will be enjoyed this summer! I am hoping we received HOA approval soon, so we will have a pool this summer.

Hope you had a wonderful 30th anniversary!

The actual mess itself hadn't REALLY bothered me. After all, it means progress. What has been frustrating is that one thing gets done and then there's a week or 2 weeks with zero activity. So, we have less than 4 weeks of work done over 9 weeks time. We have been very patient with the PB. I only texted him today because Thursday he said they would be here on Monday but they were a no show, and now today another no show. I'm hoping they will be here first thing in the morning.
Lol at the pregnancy reference! I do feel like I'm in my 9th month and will never give birth or feel normal again!

Thanks, FH! I'm hopeful for tomorrow!!
I'm pretty excited about the pool toys :) Tomorrow I'm going to go buy one of the loungers from Sam's. As I scrap up the cash, I will buy my accessory items.

Thank you for the anniversary wishes! Hubby actually had to work so we haven't really done anything. I hope we can take a trip this fall. Maybe Boston. We have never been and really want to visit in the fall.

Happy anniversary!! Wow, 30 years! Congratulations!

Sorry it's taking so long. I think he might be taking advantage of your patience and it could be time to get a little more persistent with him.

To me, no shows are not acceptable. They are a waste of my time and energy so I'd definitely have a complaint about that or need to hear a good explanation.

Thanks, TM! I was 2 when we got married ;) HA!

Yeah, I think he is sensing my frustration. I may talk to him about the no shows if I can put it in the right words. If they show up and work tomorrow and Thursday getting us ready for deck pour, I'll be super happy.

At least a pool comes with instructions!

About 10:30 we noticed someone walking through our yard. Lo and behold- there is a man here pressure testing and backfilling in the rain! Yay for progress!

I poked my head out and greeted him. Poor guy! I hate that he has to be out there in this but he told me they needed to get the pipes covered because they can float and break from the wall- we sure don't want THAT to happen! I also made sure to voice my concern about the trash in the trenches being pulled out before dirt is dumped in.
I'm away from home until this evening for appointments and then work this afternoon. It will be nice to see a flat muddy mess tomorrow instead of all those dirt piles and trenches!

They got most of the trenches filled yesterday. There are still a couple of areas that need filling but they need a really small piece of equipment for those spots. They only have one of whatever that machine is and it is currently on another job site. We gave them permission to work tomorrow if they can't get it done today as more rain is forecast for this weekend through Tuesday.
I didn't feel the need to address the no shows. Since we are getting stuff done (however little) this week and it's not another stagnant week, I'm happy.

At least with the trenches filled, I can get someone out here to put up gutters before the deck gets poured.

You are moving along. Mine took 12 1/2 weeks from first dig and we had a couple of big long stretches of no progress although due to weather and soggy soil. Once it gets finished you'll forget all about it. Oh and although my pool is done I am still dealing with a muddy/sandy backyard due to weather and inability to get sod down yet.

I hope the weather clears for you soon so you can lay your sod and get the final details finished!

Yea for progress! I'm glad things are finally moving!

Me, too :)
congratulations again on signing and getting started on your build!

Bought some chairs from Lowes tonight. Ummgood had posted a while back about some plastic resin Adirondack chairs that he bought for his firepit area. I checked them out and decided that would work for us for this year (and maybe the next year or 2). I got 4 of the larger ones with attached cup holders for the firepit area along with 2 small tables, and 2 of the smaller lower seat height chairs for the bubbler shelf and a small table to go with them. This year I'll put some money into getting chaise loungers and umbrellas, and probably a nice rug.

I don't know why it posted sideways...

I would have liked teal. My lowes had red and lime green. My currentvpatio cushions are tan and orange, and I have the brown wicker furniture. Figured these would go better. I might go back and get some red ones for the pool instead of the brown...
