Hello from an excited Newbie in Bixby Oklahoma!!

NO way! Mine only cost $50 and I did blink when they told me the price but I could NOT be sick or out as that was the week of the Kindergarten Circus. The biggest day in Kindergarten for the year. Every Kg. child had a part (all 75 of them) with costume and props. I would not pay $300 for it though OUCH!

I feel the same way when it comes to wasted days. We had 2 months of perfect weather and tons of missed opportunities to get ahead(or stay on schedule) in the pool build. Its now raining and I'm sitting on a 95% completed project waiting for deck coating and plaster. My yard is a mess because they regraded 75% of my whole yard and so there is virtually no grass anywhere, just dirt! Thankfully after a week of rain the sun is out, and if it stays this way deck coating is on tuesday.

On the bright side, the dig, plumbing & steel in your pool looks like it was all done by top notch people. Very neat & clean!!

Finished up my BUSY work week. Whew! I'm off today then again Thursday. I'm working a bunch extra but I have bling to pay for and I'll probably owe Uncle Sam when I finally get around to doing my taxes.

It's still dark outside here but I've been up since 5:00 and I'm eager to get the show on the road!!

So far, no signs of a cold or flu ;) I've never had to take Tamiflu before so I can't compare copays. My daughter in law called their pediatrician about the the boys possible exposure ad he said Tamiflu in kids that young can be toxic so he wouldn't give it as a prophylactic, but just said to watch them.

Happy Gunite Monday!! I'll post pics as soon as there is some activity. We need sunlight first...

They arrived about 15 minutes ago! Nice nice guys! They are going to give me additional steps at the bottom so it's not so high, we discussed the spa seating heights and it looks all good so far!!!

It IS a truly happy Gunite Monday!!

I don't think my neighbors (other than my immediate next door ones) knew what was going on in our yard until this morning. Now they will all know we are putting in a pool. The crew is accessing the yard from the front because they were afraid it would be too much mess for the nursing home.

They have tarped off my house, now I can't see :( I guess it'll be a surprise when they are done!! Tada!

OH yeah! It is really happening AND you do not have to wait all day! Nice on the extra step!

LOL Go to the nursing home and ask to watch from one of the rooms facing the yard! Take some cookies to bribe your way in!

Kim, I would never get out of the nursing home! I would get to visiting with the residents and it would suck me into "nurse" mode. Nursing home residents comprise a large portion of my patient population and I desperately need my break today. Good idea though!

Somehow hubby is sleeping through all this noise!

Congrats! And I agree this time change is a PITA. Why can't we just stay with DST all year! I am beat. Not a morning person to begin with, so I'm about ready to just fall asleep at my desk...

The race is on and there are no losers! Just bragging rights, LOL.

I am SO grateful that I am on Spring Break this week. It gives me a chance to adjust to the time change. One year they had the major testing the week right after the time change! What were they thinking?????? We noticed a big drop in the scores=dahhhhhhhhh I could have told them it would happen!

nini, it is funny you would slip into nurse mode.......it happens to me all of the time with kids or pets...........I slip into teaching/training mode without even realizing it LOL it is just how I am.

Being a nurse or a teacher isn't a profession that's jus what you are. It becomes part of WHO you are. And you're all vastly underpaid for what you do! Just sayin!!

Woo hoo on the gunite! Can't wait to see more pics!

Ended up having to buy Tamiflu on Saturday for my 6 year old. Turned out it was the flu. [emoji1317] So far the rest of us are doing okay. Please pray we stay that way!!

More progress pictures. I may have irritated the nice man I had been talking to earlier. I saw my steps are very square. I had asked that they round the edges and was told they would. I opened the door and asked about the square-ness and was told they were letting them set up a bit then would round them off. I don't think that's actually the case but as long as they fix it, I'm good. If he's irritated, oh well...

Denise!!!! I'm so HAPPY for you! Gunite -wow, a great day. I will say the difference shocked me a little, and until water was in the pool, it all looked overwhelming for my small yard. Just sayin' in case you have any of the same feelings, but I know most people don't. But having the gunite completed was exciting, because it was such a huge step forward!

Don't worry about that guy. He's probably a bit grumpy from the time change (I'd be happy if they'd just stick with ONE time all year - either one - just pick one!). Take him some coffee or juice or soda. Any cookies handy?

You have to speak up - it's your pool, and it would be difficult to fix later. Someone may know better, but I believe when they do the plaster they can round things off even more. I know all my steps and edges looked so sharp after gunite. Once the plaster was finished, they all look beautifully rounded. I did show the head plaster guy a picture of what I wanted, but I think they would have done the rounding anyway.

Are you so giddy???? Or do you feel numb that it's finally happening?

Have fun either way!!!

At least someone is benefiting from the time change! NO way I could be sleeping on such an important and happy day!

He got up right after I wrote that!

Thanks Amanda! I can't believe it's finally happening!

I hear you on the time change! I lost an hour of sleep going into my third shift. I AM SO TIRED!
Good thing that spring break coincided with DST for the kiddos. It's the same here.

Congrats on gunite! It's very exciting!

Thanks, Marla! It's funny how you started your build after mine and you have just ZOOMED past! Hopefully you will have some more great progress this week!

I totally agree about our salaries :)

Sorry your baby is sick! Incubation is 1-4 days, usually 2 but people are infectious for 5-7 days or longer... Praying for your family.
