Hello from an excited Newbie in Bixby Oklahoma!!

I received my Lightstreams samples. They are gorgeous! I immediately dismissed the SBBS sample as too brown. Pretty, but not what I want.
The Steel Blue, Peacock and Turquoise 2.0 are the ones we tested in the sun and water with our plaster.
Here are our test pictures.

We both decided that Peacock was the winner. Hubby REALLY liked it! He was the one who used the word "bling" to describe it :)
I love the look of the turquoise 2.0. The irredescent colors are prettier than the others but the flat blue is too light. The Steel Blueis a much darker blue and mostly gold. Beautiful, but I like the rainbow hues of the other two. Peacock is more of a medium blue with the rainbow hues and gold. A good mixture, I believe. Would love to hear what you all think. Sorry, the pictures aren't great.
I'll probably order it next week.

I like the peacock also. I think it will go great with your pool! Interesting how your hubby immediately loved it and mine did not.

He hasn't been interested in looking at any of the decor items (stone, tile, plaster) with me. He says "that's all you". I would show him things I was looking at and pictures of ideas but he didn't really have any opinion. His must haves in the yard are the spa, kitchen (future) and cement down the entire side of the house. He had wanted the spa on the opposite side of where it is, but I flipped it so we could have deck space for the kitchen and firepit. He's STILL not happy about it...

So, since the spa is his thing, I had him make the final decision between the negative edge (his pick) vs a stacked stone cascade (my pick), and I had decided whatever tile he liked best of the 3 is what we would go with even if I liked another one better. I'm glad he picked what I liked, but even better is that he has finally made some decisions.

Well I am so excited to see what your pool is going to look like. I remember at the beginning you were very cost focused but I think your pool is really going to look elegant and classy. I can't wait to see how it turns out!

I got my Light Streams samples last night too. The Peacock and Steel Blue were our favorites (Royal Blue was immediately dismissed as too purple) but I'm in love with that Peacock. It just pops beautifully! Hubby preferred Steel Blue so if we go with Light Streams we'll probably go with that. Like yours, hubby hasn't made a lot of decisions.

I can't wait to see that installed! Oh, it's going to be beautiful!!

Which color did Suz have? I can't remember. Was it the Peacock? What kind of pricing have you guys been looking at for the glass?

Thanks Umm! In the beginning, my husband wanted bare minimum. As we progressed, he wanted some "bigger" things, such as 1100sq ft of deck (ouch!) as well as the kitchen, pergola and spa. I just wanted the "pretties". I have demonstrated to him my ability to pick up the extra hours necessary to put all of these things in place (minus the kitchen-that will be next year hopefully) and when the build is done the extras will be paid in full and we will both have what we wanted. It's a win win.
I hope you are right about how it turns out. Either way, I will have my pool. The thought still makes my heart skip a beat.

How's the foot?

Blessings-
Denise

I really liked them all but Peacock is the favorite!
Suz used peacock as well.

Thanks Janny! Did they ever fix the hole in your plaster?

Not yet. And looking back at pictures I can see it was there from the beginning. I'll post a picture in my thread when I find it again.
But this is about your pool. Just do not be afraid to ask questions. Umgood is the best to request that work be done correctly. We could all take lessons from him. I think it's common for many of the subcontractors to just get by. That's where the PB must be notified. Best of luck. I love your design and your Peacock colors. [emoji3]

Denise, your husband has such amazing taste! Lol! (since I picked Peacock, also.) You will love it!!! The Steel Blue really is much darker. I used a few pieces from my samples to trim the deep water bench (mixed with Peacock and Turquoise). Steel Blue is such an elegant look which really isn't what I wanted. And the Turquoise pieces look so much brighter. For our pool, the Turquoise all over would have been overwhelming for our yard.

Congratulations!!! Another big decision made!!!
Suz.

Sorry for the delayed responses! I have been working everyday. And there has been nothing to report.

Thank you, Janny!
You are so right! I don't think I could have handled all the things Ummgood went through with his build. So far, my PB has done well.

Suz, that's a great idea to use some of the samples....hmmm....
I felt the same way about the colors. I REALLY love the iridescence of the turquoise, but the blue is too light/bright. The peacock is the perfect medium blue.
Do you have pictures in your thread showing the mixture of your samples on the bench?

Thanks for stopping by!
