Hello from an excited Newbie in Bixby Oklahoma!!

I think all that tile will be beautiful! Maybe do a combination of some sort that would give you the flagstone look you like on the back side but the easier to care for negative edge on the front? Not exactly like this but...

Just throwing out ideas but I think it will be beautiful as you have it too!!

Right now, the plan is for something similar to this picture...

Oooh pretty!

I think the glass is going to look amazing!!!

Thanks Umm! That is my hope

Building a pool is a pretty stressful process -- much more than I expected! The mess, the dirt, the chaos, the money, the money, the money, LOL

Yes! SOOOOO stressful!!! We just won't talk about the money...although I have my overages 1/2 paid for now. It's a good feeling.

Hey you forgot to mention the money!

Shhhhh.....

They finished the dig today. After I left for work, they put gravel in the bottom. It was too dark when I got home to take pictures. These are how it looked right before the gravel.

Thank you! I'm so excited!

I've seen gravel in other builds, but I don't know the why behind it. Maybe it's to help with drainage?

Our gravel was because we have clay soil it's supposed to help keep it from moving, shifting (Stability). That's how I remember it. We had lots of gravel added to the bottom. Of course we also had tons of rebar.

Janny, it's the perspective of the shot that makes it look huge. It's going to be a fine size (even if I wish we could have gone bigger)
I agree the 2nd pool would be fun. I have enough stress and anxiety for 2 builds, that's for sure!
We have a lot of clay here in Oklahoma, too.

So much for them only working Mon-Thurs... Hubby texted me that they were there this morning laying pvc.
I texted the PB and asked what was going on and he said they were doing the main drains and dropping off steel for Monday. *sigh* It's so frustrating when people don't listen.
On the bright side, we now have main drains and steel...rebar happens Monday. :)

How frustrating! Are you going to reiterate what had been agreed upon in your contract, or let it slide without saying anything more? If this is arrangement is something you want him to abide by, I'd probably want to say something so he doesn't think he can get away with it again. It's no fun laying down the law, but I'd hate him to think he can walk all over you.

My pool builder hung plastic sheeting on all my privacy walls and the whole back side of the house. The longer the gunite is left on the brick the harder it will be to remove.

I haven't been able to see the house in the daylight yet to know how much got sprayed. Right now there is just a small area by the back door. I'm going to talk to him about it in the morning when they come do the rebar.

This should be a good construction week. Rebar tomorrow, hopefully plumbing and electrical closely following and gunite to finish the week. Then I should be able to order my tile. Haven't received my samples yet. Hopefully they come tomorrow as well.

I'll have more pictures to post tomorrow.
