I'm 6'3" and weigh about 350 pounds so know all to well how shoddy some of the outdoor furniture is out there. I have 2 boys who play several sports so I've gotten a lot of time in the folding canvas chairs. After breaking my 2nd of the year we started searching for some that were more heavy duty and bought this at walmart... https://www.walmart.com/ip/Ozark-Trail-Big-and-Tall-Chair/50884896#about-item I've gotten to where I just leave it in the back of my car and just grab it if I'm at someone's house where it may cause an issue. I'd rather get a strange look or 2 carrying the chair in than the many as I'm laying on my back after breaking the chair.

I find it very crazy that most chairs are rated at 250.
My husband is not"fat" but hits the 250 Mark.
We were discussing this situation and realized that we have a table and chairs set that we bought at Ocean State Job Lot over 14 years ago for$100.
It is round with for chairs.
They still carry them! But they are more$$ now.
Last year one chair finally gave way as my kids were using it to jump into the trampoline with standing on the back rest part.
.. they are rated at 250..
They have held all our guests for so many years...
