I currently have a 200k btu heater. Its due to be replaced.
Question is, can I go too big? Im thinking Jandy 240k btu but, what woukd happen if I went with the 400k btu unit. They are the same physical size, cost difference is negligible. Would it jus heat faster, I have a VS pump, could i increse flow to help mobe the heat from the unit quicker?

Thanks for your help.

Yes, a 400k BTU unit should heat twice as fast as the 200k BTU heater.

The other thing to consider is the diameter of your supply lines for natural gas. You might not have the plumbing to support the 400k btu heater. When the pool company installed mine, i had to have the gas company come out and change my meter. I think the plumber also had to install larger diameter pipe to carry the natural gas to the heater. Might want to look into that aspect of it too.
