Just got my pool completed and had a Rheem gas heater installed. Ran it today and it is saying my water is heating but it’s not. The pool water temp goes from 75 to 90 in about an hour per the display but the actual water temp never moves from 71 or so. I’ve tried to restart the system but it still does it. Any help would be great I already contacted the pool company but it’s the weekend plus I want to be knowledgeable about it when they finally come. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

How are you measuring the actual water temperature?

What displays are you looking at for what?

If your gas heater is running then the heat is going into the water.

Please create your signature with details of your pool and equipment.

I just had a pool put in and had a heater installed, the heater is saying the water is hotter than what it actually is. Set the heater to 88 and it will go from 70 to 88 in an hour but the actual temp in the pool is 71. Any help would help so when the guys come to fix it they can blow smoke at me.

I have attached a picture of my setup.

Please put the number of gallons in your pool in your signature.

Your heater can only heat your pool 1 to 2 degrees an hour.

Post a pic of the display saying your pool is 88.

The inlet and outlet should be marked with arrows or the words inlet and outlet.

Which is the inlet and which is the outlet?

What is the pump speed?

What is the filter pressure?

Are you sure that the gauge is good? It looks weird.

Can you verify that the flow is good?

Have you backwashed the filter?

What is the exact model of the heater?

Are there any error codes?

Note: You should never leave the pump off when you have tabs in the feeder because the chlorine will destroy the heater.
