I have a Sonoma Spa with Balboa heater and controls think its about 15 years old. The unit was shutting down due to heater OHH code. Had tech replace a censor. This did not help. Noticed that the heater Unit was looking corrosive so decided to replace the whole heating unit which came with new sensors. Same issues. I notice that the heater itself is not shutting off. If I turn on power I can hear the heater turn on first and if I do nothing and let the controls run its start up scan the heater will over heat and throw the OHH code causing it to shut off before scan is complete. If I shut if off and turn it back on and immediately turn on jets while the control runs its start up scan all is good until the water temp reaches set temp. Then the pumps turn off and I can still hear the heater hissing (meaning it has not shut off with the pump ) then about 10 seconds or so it trips the OHH code and shuts off.
