Heater and return line

I re-plumbed my pump pad area this year. One thing I changed was the orientation of the return lines. I have two returns. Only one was heated. Someone branched the return line from the filter to the heater., so I only had heat coming out of one return. While I was changing things, I put the branch after the heater so that 100% of the filtered water goes to the heater and out to both of my returns.

In making this change, will I see an improvement in heating my pool or will this change really not affect much?

Do you have a bypass for the heater? Most heater plumbing diagrams I have seen have a bypass line and valve to allow for adjusting flow to the heater input as well as bypassing the heater entirely, which you might want to do if ever you have to do an acid bath, etc.
