Heat pump too close to salt water pool causing corrosion?

I am going to be installing a heat pump. Ideally within a couple feet of my above ground pool. Would the occasional splash of salt water eventually destroy my heat pump due to the salt and metal? Should I move it several feet further away to help limit the chance of it being splashed?
I would like to keep it as close to the pool as possible, but I'd also like to not damage my brand new heat pump.
Thoughts?

How many feet is a “couple of feet”?

NEC requires no electrical within 6 feet of the inside pool wall.
