Hi all, I'm trying to determine if a heat pump will work to heat my spa and what size I might need to get it up to temp in about an hour.
I'm also installing a 9 panel Heliocol HC–50 system, so the pool and spa will generally be at least 75F (I think).
The spa is 500 gallons.

500 gal * 8.33 = 4165 lb of water
4165lb / 120,000 btu * 60 min = 2.0825 minutes.
If my calculations are correct, I'd need 120k BTU to heat to 102F from 75F in 56 minutes. (102-75)*2.0825 = 56 min

I know BTUs depends on outside temps, so I'm just looking for some anecdotes from SE Florida or general opinions to see if this makes sense.
I have no gas in my neighborhood and don't really want to buy an electric heater if I don't need to.
The heat pump would also be used to supplement the solar and keep the pool around 85F all year.

Is this feasible? Thanks!

Your calculations seem correct.
4165 * 27 (degree temp rise) = 112,455 btu required to get to temperature
112,455/120000 (rating of heat pump) = .93hr (56minutes)
As you said, the ambient air is a factor, but this should be a good average.
