Heat exchanger problem

I have a AquaComfort 750 electric heat pump just a few years old. The pool company that installed it glued the IN and OUT water connections using the PVC cement so I was not able to get the water out of the heat exchanger in the fall. Well now I have a busted heat exchanger. Bought just the exchanger for 700. Labor to put it in if I can even find someone to do it will be an all day job figuring 1000 in labor. I think I should just buy a new pump and am wondering what a decent one is? The AquaComfort one was pretty good I think the problem was I could not get the water out. Is the Hayward one at Amazon.com : Hayward HP50TA HeatPro Titanium 50, 000 BTU Heat Pump, Square : Swimming Pool Heat Pumps : Garden & Outdoor any good? Seems a little iffy to me. I am going to also try to work with the pool company here to see if they can work with me on getting a new one. I feel they should have used union connections at the water lines on the heat pump.

Thanks for any feedback.

Gluing the inlet/oultet directly to the heat pump was not good.

Let's see if this bump gets you some guidance.
