I had someone over working on my pool and it appears they broke the screen to my Hayward controller, so Im looking for a how to turn on the pump manually? When I open the pump cover I have no power or nothing on the display. please let me know

The CB is turned on. and I only have the one screen on the controller pad. I am guessing here but I assume when I turn on the pump or filter using the controller pad it triggering a relay that powers the pump. So Do I need to bypass that relay somehow temperary

In the menu on the pump, get to "standalone" and you will have control over the pump if there is power to it and no other damage. The pump should have constant power, it is not controlled by a relay.

What model pump we we discussing?

Show us pictures of the pump and its control panel.

First, what youre talking about is an inside remote. Do you have a pool subpanel?

Pls take a pic if your entire pool pad, then provide the Model # of your pump. All VSP's can be controlled from their own control panel.

Finally, how did "the worker" break the remote? How old is your remote? If more than 2-3 yrs old, chances are that the battery died. If they actually did drop and break it, then they should pay for it or disct their services...

All VSP's can be controlled from their own control panel.
Some VSPs no longer come with their own control panel. See many Jandy VSPs.

Most Hayward VSPs require the control panel wires to be disconnected when the automation RS-485 wires are connected to the pump.

To enable the pump control panel you need to open up the back wiring compartment and disconnect the automation wires and reconnect the control panel wires.

This is why the pump control panel is dark.
