After my Baracuda died, I was recommended to get a Hayward The Pool Cleaner. Got the 4 wheel model. I have a suction inlet in the side of my pool with a valve to adjust suction between it and the skimmer. A few questions because it doesn’t want to climb the walls.
I timed the rpm at 12 per the instructions and put the 2 floats 20-25” from the device. I can’t set the suction any higher without causing turbulence in my pipes.
I have the largest inlet installed beside I frequently get large debris. Will the inlet size significantly affect the speed and power of the unit? Are the floats in the right place? Any other tweaks to get it to move better?
Thanks,
Russ

Are you sure you are counting the revolution correctly? 12 RPM should climb the walls.

No unless the cleaner tube is not sealing properly. How large is the pipe?

You can try moving the floats closer to the cleaner head.

I had the two wheel version for about 10 years before I got my robot. It doesn't do much on the walls anyway.

Anything that might get sucked up in the cleaner is more likely to fall off the wall before the cleaner gets to it anyway and any dirt embedded in the wall is not going to be removed by the cleaner anyway because it doesn't have a brush. It is more of a marketing tool.

Yes, I am counting revolutions per minute correctly. I’m thinking the slippery pebble-tech surface and angle of the walls doesn’t let it hold on as easily. Thanks.

As mark indicated, the cleaner climbing the pool walls really doesn't do much as it doesn't have any brushes.
Brush the walls weekly, let the dust/debris settle and then run the cleaner.

The 4 wheel cleaner is more appropriate for a pool your size - but it probably won't climb the walls.

I have a relative who used to have the two wheel model and it would usually climb the walls. They have a 4 wheel model now and it doesn't climb the walls at all. Both were set up per manufacturers instructions.
