Im having some issues with my In Floor cleaning system not getting pressure enough to pop up the in floor heads. I tested all the valves and the mechanics of the A&A system but all seem to be operating correctly.

The Hayward C5030 filter gauge shows 34PSI and I am of the opinion thats way too high.

Looking for feedback on proper pressure reading for the C5030 with 8 paper 3025 filters inside.

I have the Hayward 4025 and by filter pressure is around 4psi. And more then enough flow to keep the water fall happy with all jets wide open.

Something doesn’t sound right, have you checked and cleaned the filters?

If so can you post a few pictures of the pool pad and how it’s setup?

Sgt,

Filter pressure is backwards from what most people think. Filter pressure is a measure of how hard it is to push water through your filter.

It is not a measurement of how great your pump is working.

I suspect at 34 PSI your water flow back to the pool, or to your in-floor system, is pretty weak.

Something is restricting the flow of water through your filter and back to the pool. The most likely suspect is that your filter is very dirty. But, anything in the return path can cause increased filter pressure.

Thanks,

Jim R.

Thank you both your advice. Today I took out the filters and soaked them for the day in a filter cleaner then washed them out.

I also went and bought a new rubber lid gasket for the A&A In Floor Inlet canister lid.

Pressure is down on filter to 23lbs now but still no water pushing through In FLoor canister.

Going to have to check some valves now.

Some pictures of the equipment pad from various angles can do you justice in someone spotting a valve or something in the wrong direction.

I took the pictures you suggested and was going to post them but a pool guy I know said that if my valve on the top of the 6 Port canister is leaking it will allow enough air inside to make the impeller fail to operate.

I went and bought new 6 port A&A canister lid with valve and also decided to do gear kit replacement. While doing this I found one of the valves had lost its metal pin that is used to lift it up as the rotator moves around. So that pin is somewhere in the In Floor plumbing now.

After full valve replacement, new gear kit, new lid with new gasket the system is back to 100% operation.
