Hello We had construction at our house last year so our pool has been closed since Sept 2018. When we opened our pool about 5 days ago I noticed a slight squeal in the Hayward pump. It has gotten worse over the last couple days so it is turned off.
From everything I have read it seems like it needs new bearings or replaced. The pump is about 5 years old but what I would really like to know is Is it safe to run the pump now until we receive our replacement? Or should be turn it off? I was not able to find an answer. For now the pump is off and my water is still very cloudy. I would like to be able to run during the day if it is safe.
Please advise.
