Hayward SP2310X152 variable Speed

The pump recently started to not push water to the upper waterfall on low speed (1,725 rpm). It has for years not had a problem. The waterfall is about 3ft higher than the pump. I can see that it is pushing water through the pool outlets, just not enough to reach the upper waterfall. Obviously it is sucking water fine.

It was suggested that the impeller may have a leak and is therefore not creating the relevant pressure to allow the water to rise the 3ft necessary.

The pump works fine on high (3,450 rpm) (as far as I can tell) and pushes water to the roof solar heater approx. 15 high.

Any suggestions on what I need to replace?

Welcome to TFP.

The first thing to check is your filter. A dirty filter will slow the flow of water.

What model filter do you have?

When did you last clean the filter?

What is the PSI on your filter gauge?

Thank!. I'll do that tomorrow. We just had Hurricane Ian so lots of small particles in pool. I'll clean it and see what happens. To be continued...

I just went out and checked the psi, currently at 15. The normal operating psi is 10-11 so I think that may do it. I'll clean it tomorrow and see. It has been a while since I cleaned it. Thanks again!!

I cleaned the filter this morning. PSI dropped from 15 to 10 and its now pumping water to the upper waterfall. Thanks so much. Sometimes the obvious is not so obvious!!
