Hi All,
Looking for someone that has cracked the code on the Hayward Sense & Dispense Omni PL System? I have had my pool about a year and had it running with a percentage based SWG and wanted to go to full automation. Now I added the Sense & Dispense system and it is reading ORP and turns on the SWG once the ORP drops below the specified value. The problem I am facing is that the SWG ends up running too long and the Omni PL system doesn't turn off the SWG or allow it time to re-adjust to the new ORP setting that spike up after the SWG runs too long.

So my solution is to set an notification in the OmniPL system to let me know when it runs, then I manually turn off the SWG (via the app) after 2-3 hours. I let the pump run and usually I am spot on ORP and chlorine levels. Has anyone figured out how to configure a SWG with the Sence & Dispense without over chlorinating? Thank you in advance.

Welcome to TFP.

You are discovering why we do not recommend ORP based chlorine control. It has made you into a mechanical Turk needing to adjust your system daily.

Using normal % SWG generation I can dial in my SWG output for around a month and need to touch it about once a month.

What does the ORP control buy you?

What do you think the range of acceptable chlorination is for a CYA level?
