Hayward s200 sand filter questions

I have a Hayward s200 sand filter on my 25000 gallon pool and I have been having problems all summer keeping it clean. I was finally brave enough today to pull the lid of the sand filter and I noticed that the sand in it appears to be very low. It is under the bottom bulkhead. Does anyone know how full the filter should be?

I'm not sure when the last time the sand was replaced and I'm going to guess most of the part in it are from when the pool was built in the 80s.

My current plan is to go to the pool store and buy 200 pounds of sand, and some replacement laterals, and o rings.

Part numbers
SX200Q - Threaded Lateral Replacement
SX200Z6 - Hayward Filter Cover O-Ring
SX200Z7 - Hayward S200 Filter Tank Body O-ring
SX200Z3 - Hayward Bulkhead/Valve O-ring

Are there any other parts I should buy or do I even need those part?

Just a couple of thoughts. Firstly, the S200 is a little small for your pool, the S270T or S310T would be much better. Secondly, you may have lost sand through some broken laterals, so your plan to replace them seems sound.

Of course, you could just get a larger filter with a new valve and laterals.
