I am having the same problem. The only difference is my system is a Hayward Pro Logic with a T-15 cell. The the salt reading be manually re-set on this controller?

"You can update the instant salinity by going to the instant salinity and moving the switch from auto to superchlorinate and back to auto."... James W.
That only works on AquaRite.

OP, can you go into more detail about your problem?

What are the diagnostic readings?

How old is the cell?

What is the actual salinity?

OK, it is a Hayward Pro Logic system. It is reading my salt at 2500 - 2600 but when I take a sample to my local pool supply house it reads at 3100. I have recently cleaned the cell with a 1:4 muriatic acid solution and it appears clean. I have done the instant read several times, switching between +/- and it does not change the reading. I am hoping that there is a way to manually set the salt to the 3100 that the pool company says it is.

The cell was made in May 2010. So, about 9 years old.

The performance of the cell can be calculated by dividing the instant salinity by the actual salinity.

2,500 ÷ 3,100 is about 81%. I usually recommend replacing the cell when the performance gets to 75%.

So, you're getting close to needing a new cell. As long as the salinity stays above 2,400, the system will continue to work.

You can increase the salinity some to make sure that the reading stays above 2,400 ppm.

You're probably going to have to replace the cell soon, but you can get a little bit more time out of it if you want.

Jamesw, thanks for the info. Do you recommend staying with the Hayward brand or are any of the 'generics' decent.

I would probably try to get another season out of the cell by increasing the salinity some to keep it working as long as the performance percentage stays above 75%.

Also, I would recommend the K-1766 salt test kit to check the salinity.
