I have my navigator running daily with about 10 hose segments (plenty of length) without the heavier header, and I notice the same behavior on most days:
1) Gets stuck suctioning over the main drain cover
2) Repeats the same circular pattern
3) If the hose gets tangled, it goes into a weird pattern and doesnt reach everywhere.
4) Upon turning at the top of the pool, it occasionally just floats up there. Could this be caused by not having the heavier header segment?
I looked for some type of swivel hose adapter on ebay, and I came across 2 items:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=200464286516&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT which is recommended for manual cleaners, and this monster
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=140450301219&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT
It looks fancy, motorized, and, based on the description, awesome.
Is it overkill? Does anyone else have it?
Or do I just have cheap hoses that dont bend much?
What can I do to "avoid" the main drain? Can I cover it with something since I dont use it much?
I thank
