My GVA-24 has stopped working in "auto" mode. The green Heating light is on, but the valve is in bypass mode. The temp difference between roof and pool water is more than 10 degrees. If I flip the toggle switch from ON1 to ON2, the valve rotates normally. If I turn power off, set the valve to bypass and then power up, it does not rotate to heating mode. How can I troubleshoot this problem?

Probably a bad micro switch.

Read the Wiki and understand the logic of the micro switches.

If you are not prepared to replace a micro switch then buy a new actuator.

Check the voltages at the micro switches to figure out which is open.

Be careful and do not short the probes while probing voltages or you can blow a fuse, transformer, or board in the controller.
