Hayward ColorLogic 320...With or Without Wall Fitting

Does anyone have installed ColorLogic 320 1.5" LED lights WITHOUT a wall fitting? Issues with our pool builder at every step, this one was too obvious to overlook. The builder ran 1.5" PVC Plumbing pipe from the pool wall and coupled with the PVC electrical conduit. At the end of the plumbing pipe they attached a generic fitting. We were alerted by a sub that the lights weren't fitting tight. Went back to the installation manual and saw they have to use electrical conduit from the light all the way back to the transformer. We're insisting they bust out the plumbing pipe and replace it with the electrical conduit. In addition, the wall fitting used was preventing installation of the light directly into the conduit.

My question: are these lights intended to have a wall fitting, or is it optional? The manual diagrams don't show a fitting image, but it does say in one place: "Use Hayward SP0536, -37, -38 wall fittings." But the plaster goes right up to the back of the light face, right? We're going in circles a bit over here. Thanks for any advice!

Hayward SP0536 is for gunite pools; -37 is for fiberglass pools; -38 is for liner pools.

See the attached ColorLogic® Accent Light Wall Fittings Owner’s Manual

PVC pipe of whatever length coupled to electrical conduit to the pool light junction box is correct.

Allen, that's a much better installation guide than what was provided with the light kit! Thanks so much.
Is it possible there's a difference between the Accent Light and what I have? Or maybe that's an older manual that was more descriptive?

Nope, Hayward has long described their 1.5" nicheless lights as "Accent Lights".

They do it on their website at...

It is the manual for the SP0536/37/38 parts. Those parts are sold separately and your builder should know he needs to get it.

This is supposed to be sold by a Hayward Expert who Hayward expects knows what parts are needed.
