Hayward AQL-CHEM4-CHLOR Sense and Dispense Swimming Pool Automation

Just saw this on Amazon for a good price. Anyone have any experience with it?

I tried searching for others talking about this and didn't find much?

I tried to find info on it as well and only came across the manual. Looks like the unit was made to be paired with a controller to disburse LC.

I wonder if one can use it without a controller and instead plug it into a simple digital timer so that the peristaltic pump runs for "x" minutes a day to dispense "x" amount of LC?

Yes, it can be used with a timer as well. Looks like it’s currently mis priced on amazon? Ill try it, bought two to have spare parts.

I bought two back on July 23rd; they haven't been shipped yet and I just had to approve an amazon order extension through 9/21/18. Does anyone know of any reason why these AQL-CHEM4-CHLOR could not be used as a substitute for the AQL-CHEM4-ACID?
