Hello All,

First day here, first time post.....

I got a house with a pool last spring and fought it most of the year. I had to replace the pump and the SWG. It is a pentair IC40 system and it was at least 4 years old. The cell was dead and i purchased a Blue Wave IC40 replacement cell. It worked great until it got water in the controls on top of the cell and has now died.

I really am wondering if i should replace the whole system, perhaps with a circupool RJ60+. I have a 29k pool in Iowa. Pentair VS pump, but no automation.

What is everyone's advice on how to proceed? I am ok spending $1250 on a new system, if it will provide value and better results.

Thanks!

Either a new Pentair IC60 cell or the RJ60 will do fine for you. I have never had a water problem with a genuine Pentair cell in 20 years of using them.

Brut,

We always recommend that a cell be rated for 2 x the volume of your pool.. That is why we are suggesting a cell rated at 60K

If you had a Pentair automation system, I would recommend the IC60, but without an automation system, I would go with the CircuPool RJ60.

Sometimes you get lucky when you buy off brand replacement parts, and sometimes you don't. I kind of believe that most of the time you get what you pay for... :(

Thanks,

Jim R.
